Nick Hollis

A Guinness World Record attempt raising money for the conservation of our precious rainforests.

Nick Hollis is an international mountaineer who's seen our impact on the natural world first-hand. He's set a world record attempt to promote environmental responsibility and raise funds for the conservation of our planet's most precious resource: its rainforests. To complete the 721 Challenge Nick will climb the Seven Summits, ski the North and South Poles and row the Atlantic Ocean in world record speed. He has already climbed the highest mountain on every continent, skied solo from the edge of Antarctica to the South Pole, and now has only two more challenges to go in his race against climate change.

More about the 721 team

"721 Challenge is about making as much noise around global warming as possible. Everyone coming on board is interested in protecting our planet, whether it's companies that want to make a change or individuals looking for an opportunity to do something positive. Join us in conserving threatened habitats and wildlife. Join us in our race against climate change."

7 Summits

Nick has already completed the 7 Summits challenge, having climbed the highest peak on each of the 7 continents including Mount Everest. It is one of the most respected mountaineering feats in the world, and he is only the 37th person in the UK to complete it.

2 Poles

Following in the footsteps of the great explorers, Nick has skied the long traditional route to the South Pole, traveling more than ten times the usual distance. In 2024, Nick will make his North Pole attempt, if successful, Nick will be the 18th person in the world to have completed the Explorer’s Grand Slam.

1 Ocean

Named The World’s Toughest Row, Nick will be taking part in a solo row across the Atlantic Ocean (expecting to take 60-70 days). If successful, Nick will be the fastest and the second person in history to complete the 7 summits, skied both poles and rowed across the Atlantic Ocean.

A race against climate change

Through his expeditions as a mountaineer, Nick has witnessed our environmental impact on the natural world first-hand. This has inspired him to place environmental responsibility at the heart of the 721 challenge. Working in support of our partner World Land Trust’s conservation project, Colombia's Forests of Mist
